Big Wonderful WyomingHPR 308 168 Boat Tail Match
I bought a couple of cases of this for $220 a case and it is a real shooter in my AAC 308 rifle.
Last night I was shooting gongs to 600, and shot all my groups between .691-.723, that is for a 5 shot group with the stuff at 100.
These little 308 AAC rifles are really something wonderful.
They're a great load for 600 yards.
We had an instructional, long range clinic last weekend at our Cuyama range and we were seeing the Federal 168 grain Match loads coming in sideways at 900 and 1,000 yards from a 20" barreled bolt gun.

Fjold, I guess that is what the 338 Lapua is for.
The 175 SMK was made because the 168 was not made to go 1k. It was designed as a 600 yard bullet for Service Rifle. The 175 was designed to make 1K and is usable to about 1200 yards.

Big Wonderful WyomingThanks for the knowledge.
I'll get a 100 175 SMKs and load them up.
I think I have some Lapua Scenars and Bergers in that same weight range for the 308. I'll have to look.

Naa! The 338s are just getting started at 1K. 30 mags and 6.5s are fun out to 1K or a bit more.
308 Wins are very capable , but probably not ideal with a 20"barrel at 600 plus.
