What barrel twist is recommended for 200 grain 30 caliber bullet?

1:10 will get you there.

A 1:8 is better for the 200+ grain weights

A guy here is selling a NIB 700 long range in 300 Rum for a good price.

Would end up being about $625.

Every time I swear I don't need another 700, another one follows me home. We'll see how long I hold out on this one.

I wish it was a 25-06, 30-06 or 300 Win, but we'll see how long I can fend him off.

There is an interesting video on youtube about some Aussie hunters and a 700 LR they have in 300 Ultra. They are shooting Berger VLDs and it is very accurate.

I think the Remington LR has a 1-10 for the 300 RUM.

All of my barrels are 1:10" twist, I have no trouble stabilising 230gr Bergers at around 2950fps from my 30" barrel. This was done just to see how they performed, normally, I was running 210gr VLD, but have gone to the 215gr Hybrid. They all work well above 2900fps in a 1:10".

Cheers.

I'll echo what the other posters have said. 10 twist should work great.
I've not used a bullet larger than the 200's but they work like a champ in my Rum and shoot tremendously small groups for a light "big" gun.

For cup and core bullets, 1:10 will work up to the 210gr VLD's.

If you want to shoot 200gr plus monometal VLD bullets, 1:9 or faster is best.

The last one I built used 1:9 to shoot the 200 gr CEB MTH bullets. Great looking bullet.

I bought the same rifle a month ago. Would not group 6" at 100 yrds.
Recoil was manageable without MB, but not enjoyable.
X Trigger is junk
Bolt face was not square
barrel head space was not square
a few other problems associated with poor production and quality control

Took mine to a buddy gunsmith to get
a Muzzle Break, Timney trigger and action - barrel work done.
By the time I get thru paying for the fixes I could have bought a decent rifle
DON'T BUY IT . The new Remingtons suck

Very sad to hear this.

I have one of the original Sendero in 300 RUM.

It shoot extremely well, and the velocity was higher than a 378 Weatherby!!

I am going 230gr OTM Berger Hybrid bullet for mine as well. Bartlein says the 1:10" twist is plenty good, but a 1:9.5" would not hurt accuracy.

I would use the 1 in 9 or 1 in 8. 1 in 10/11 is marginal. I have shot a lot of those bullets in F-Class in the 30-06 before I switched to the 6.5x47 Lapua.
