6mmREM and 105 AMAXs
Since I was ordering a drag bag for my new "sniper" "varmint" rifle, thought Id order some bullets as well, so I ordered some 105 AMAXs for my 6mm Rem, Ill be using RL19, WLRs, & Win brass, Im just wondering what kind of experiences you guys have had with this bullet and cartridge?

None.

A friend shoots the 107 Sierra in his 6XC.

Do you have the right twist rate to stabilize them in your 6mm?

The tech from Hornady said I needed a 10 twist, so yeah, Im all set, Ive got 9 1/4.

The 105 A-max is shooting good out of my .243 and it has a 1 in 10 twist. I'm afraid to try the 107 Sierra though. I think I'm pushing my luck with the 105 A-max.

velocity is like a new car, always losing value.
BC is like diamonds, holding value forever.

RC, my 6mm had a 6-24 Sig on it for a couple years before I put it on my 700VS 223, that was a fine plex reticle, now it has the scope that was on my 308, thats a Ballistic Mil-Dot ret., itll do just fine.

Pretty sure that 107 requires a 8 twist, yup, 8 twist.

Those 105's fly great, my friend and I have both shot them past 1k in our 6mms. His 6mmBR, my 6mm Ackley.

They have done well in my 6mms,

for a thousand yards tho, I am partial to a fast twist 6mm Rem on a long action, with 115 grain Bergers leaving the barrel with an MV of 3250 fps..

I can only shoot to 600 yds at my range.

You're correct Jay, I've called both Hornady and Sierra before loading any in my 1 in 10, 243. Hornady said "maybe" and Sierra said "no way" I still haven't shot the Hornady's out to 600 or 1,000 yards yet, so we'll see. They did shoot good at 300 though.

Hey Tyler!

If you have that caliber/bullet combo, then you DO have a practical LR rifle other than a .308 and a .338 LMIMP!

I sold it to fund the F/TR rifle Frowner

It was a laser-95 SMKs at 3500+ fps!

I use the Hornady 105 A-Max in a Remington Actioned, Hart Barreled 6mmAckley and get 3275 out of the 29" barrel and on my first 1000 yard match shot MOA with a fishbelly hunting stock-had lots of side to side movement I couldn't control. I've shot a .417" group with them at 200yards with 39.5 grains of R-22 and a Federal 210M, WW Brass and I turn the necks religiously! Yea, they work OK for me; can't get the Sierra 107's to shoot as well in this gun--for some reason.

The display of PURE POWER is nothing short of AWESOME !
