M 98rechargeable batteries...problems may be over
to the hordes of people that are experiencing frustrution with rechargeable batteries, our problems may be getting solved.....a few companies are bringing out rechargeable batteries which have a minimal discharge when not in use!!!!comparable to standard non rechargeable batteries i think this is great news
for those intrested go to this site and have a read about them..

mstarlingI've been buying batteries from these guys for 5 or 6 years ... they're great!
See the SANYO AA ENELOOP BATTERY listing mid-page. They hold 2000 maH rather than the 2700 maH of the top of the line NiMH battery (which has a better quiescent discharge rate than the old ones ... but nothing like the Sanyo).

meteThe brand new Sanyo is 2700 - that sounds very interesting !! Try them Daniel.

onefunzr2I'm sorry. Where exactly is the blurb about how they discharge less while sitting idle? I must have missed that part.

mstarlingIt is not clear to me that the 2700 Sanyo has the extended charge retention characteristics of the 2000 ENELOOP batteries I pointed out. That spec sheet does discuss the extended charge holding capabilities.

meteMaybe your right , though they have some of the design features of the eneloop. It's frustrating to spend so much time reading marketing BS instead of facts !!

M 98there is another battery which is the ANNSMAN AA ,its rated at 2900 mah
i spoke with the guy at thomas distibuting and he assured me that the ENELOOP is the real thing
the others will self discharge no matter how high the mah
i think he quoted me the figures of 1-1.5%discharge rate per day
i think i will change over to the ENELOOP for sure
