<lb404>Digital storage media
I have a digital camera and purchased a IBM 1G micro drive for it. It works very well, super reliable. I will be buying another digital camera soon and with all of the new technological improvements is there anything out there of reasonable cost that I should consider as far as media storage goes? The new camera uses Compact flash 1 & 2, as well smart media cards. I want to store the most number of pictures on one drive that I can as I don't want the burden of taking a computer this time.

Cost wise, the microdrive is still the cheapest for a gig sized card. There are now 1 gig CF cards that are more expensive by about 60 USD at B&H. Both have come down tremendously in price 230 USD and 290 respectively. The CF cards might be faster and less fragile. I use microdrives and have never had trouble.

<lb404>Thanks for your response,I am happy with my IBM 1gig microdrive also. I was wondering if there is anything available better for the same price?
I just read a SanDisk release that there 2 gig and 4 gig CF I cards coming out this summer with a MSRP of 500 USD and 1000USD. I assume it will sell for less and thus will be cheaper than the microdrives, unless their prices continue to fall.
