Peter AndersenWhat does everyone use for keeping lenses clean?
I have a canon EOS 7D and an XF 305. I've used a couple different things while in the field but I can never seem to keep them as clean as I would like. What do you use to clean your lenses in the field and at the end of the day?

DB Bill#1 I try to keep a lens cap on unless I'm actually taking a photo.
#2 Before I put the lens cap back on I give it a blast of air using one of the rubber bladder's.
3) When there is something that seems to be "stuck" on the lens I flush it with a squirt of lens cleaning solution and then use a small micro fiber cleaning cloth and gently, without any pressure on the lens surface try to remove it - if it's resistant I give it another squirt and wait a bit before I try again.
4) I shoot a lot of soccer and rarely need to do more than steps #1 and #2.
The good news is even if you scratch the lens it won't show up on the images but the downside is no resale value.

Peter AndersenThanks Bill, I always keep my lens caps on when I'm not using them. Is there any special solution that you find works best?

In cases where there is really bad weather, dust or other extreme conditions I put on a UV filter to protect the lens surface. But only in extreme conditions.
