NUMBER ONE... FILM IS CHEAP TAKE LOTS AND USE IT!!!!!!!!
2. Learn to use your camera before you need to know how it works.
3. Never depend on the auto mode on once in a life time pictures. Learn how to use the camera's manual modes.
4. Bracket your exposures to catch the correct lighting. (see # 3)
5. Get close.
6. There is more to a hunting trip than dead animals. (see #1)
7. Learn to SEE what you are looking at. There is a difference.
8. Blood is usually not welcome when you show your photos to your non-hunting friends, same goes for tongues hanging out.
9. Cary a small flash for fillin and learn how to use it.
10. FILM IS CHEAP TAKE LOTS AND USE IT!!!!!!!!

Dulcinea,

My sole tip for now -- and one I hammer into guides/outfitters that often supply me with photos of their clients for "hero" articles I write up for magazines.

USE YOUR FLASH EVEN IN BRIGHT SUNLIGHT IF YOU WANT A QUALITY, SHADOWLESS PHOTO! < !--color-->

Here's an example. -TONY
