My camera is a http://albert.achtung.com/cameras/A80/index.html and I like it alot but its relatively cheap, around 300 now, takes good pictures for the price though

THanks for the info. My price range is $500 or less as the models and features continuously change. Everytime I buy some electronic gadget, it gets cheaper the next day with better features.

For my "serious" personal work, I still prefer film. I shoot an old Canon A-1 and another old AE-1.

I've got an Olympus digital that actually does a real nice job, but I still prefer film.

For "work", we use purely digital. In the situation that we shoot, digital is almost a requirement (sometimes stuff needs to be available to send NOW). And while I use top-end stuff there (Nikon D1-X), when we're shooting non-essential stuff, or "practicing" some on personal time, I'll check out a Nikon F3 and burn through some film.

As to choices, there are just too many to even start. Go to a Wolf Camera, or any other well-stocked shop, and handle as many as you can. Something may really "feel" good, or bad. Then you can start comparing features & decide what gives you the most for your money.

Nikon, there's no question, it doesn't do wonders. It just takes great photo's. Film or digital, personal. Me, I use film, plan to get a digital one day but very pleased with the film photo's..

Thanks for the responses. I am still looking and narrowed the search to Minolta Dimage Z3 and the Canon S1 IS.
Any comments on these?
