What is availible to store digital pictures other than a laptop. I have no reason to get a laptop but need to download pics on my upcoming Africa trip.

There are quite a number of what is called "digital wallets".

They have a hard disk - ranging from 10 - 40 Gig, and can download photos from all sorts of media.
