MarkWireless Internet
I don't have any broadband options where I live except for satellite, which I've used and I don't like. I do have a Cingular cell phone tower 4-5 miles away so am thinking about biting the bullet and doing wireless internet, painfull as that $eem$ to be.
Does anyone have experience with it? I've never really heard much comparison except by people who were trying to sell me something.
Thanks
Mark

gsganzerI have "fixed" wireless. I have a transmitter/receiver on my roof that beams to an antenna about 7 miles away. It's exceptional and I couldn't be happier. I download at approximately 1.3mbps and upload at around 400 kbps.
I use a company called "Partnership Wireless" for my service. You might have something similar near you. Exhaust all options before you go with satellite. I hear that it's the last option you want to use.
