Larry SellersPhoto album/scrapbook???
I think I have seen info here somewhere regarding the making of digital photo albums or scrapbooks???? I would like to try and put some hunts, events and such in this format. Anyone have experience with these books or directions as to where I can find this info? I would prefer direct info of products used by folks on here. Thanks.

farbedoLarry,
I have used a couple of different companies and also just did them myself. There are a bunch of others, I have only used these two.
These are very nice:
http://www.mpix.com/products/photobooksAs are these:
http://www.shutterfly.com/photo-booksMpix has better photo retouching services, IMHO, and they have been around a while. If you want to talk to someone, they have provided good service on that front as well. Shutterfly was cheaper overall. In the end, comparable products.
I think that Shutterfly is good if you already know what you want. Mpix would be better if you want/need help with photo formatting and retouching.
I have also formatted and put them together using Microsoft Powerpoint, a good inkjet printer, and three ring document sleeves from Staples for a three ring album. Not quite as finished looking, but I can do more with each page.

Dave AndersonI used Apple's iPhoto to make a photo book of a combined sightseeing/shooting trip to Scotland. The program has various templates, it was just a matter of importing and arranging the photos I wanted, adding captions and adding an introduction.
Books can be in various sizes and formats. Soft cover is lower cost. I got a few made with hard cover and dust covers and sent them as gifts to our hosts and trip companions.
Quality and service were both outstanding. I completed the formatting and clicked the "submit" button on a Sunday evening, and had the books delivered the following Thursday.
This isn't the cheapest method. I wouldn't do 50 or 100 books this way but for the dozen or so copies I wanted it worked well. Everyone who has seen them is most impressed with photo sharpness/color quality and the appearance of the books.
I've never used any of the US photobook companies, but there was a recent review of them here:
http://photo-book-review.toptenreviews.com/I've had made photobooks several times and they are very nice to have and to give.
Hi Larry,
Christa used BLURB PUBLICATIONS. Designed our own, not costly and they came our great. All hardback with dust jacket.
Google them.
Cheers,
Glenn
