Can anyone suggest a good video camera? I want to do some hunting clips this fall on a canoe trip.

not sure what questions to ask about one-this is a good starting place.

thanks

Depends on what you want. When I asked this question to a local writer/TV host, he came up with the suggestion of a $3000 camera, both too large in prize and in size for my liking.

Need to decide on storage medium too: disks, or internal hard drive. I chose the latter (30 GB capacity or so), no dinking around with loose storage media.

Think battery life, especially if you go bush. Mine has a dissappointing 1 hour life (one hour of filming), but there are bigger ones available as an extra purchase.

Think optical zoom and lens quality. I don't care much about digital zoom, image quality (at least on my picture camera) deteriorates quickly.

All that said, I really don't know more about this than how to turn the damn thing on and press "record". My daughter is the filmer in the family.

We ended up with a compact Sony HD something....DSC-100 I'm saying from memory (which is notoriously bad). A year ago about $1100 a Best Buy in Calgary
