JohnWKielyGadget for self portraits with trophy.
I generally hunt alone and when I wanted a portrait of myself with a trophy I had some trouble getting the camera in a stable position.
I made up this bracket which is light, screws easily into any nearby tree or stump and with the camera set to 10 second delay allows me to get into position without the camera moving.
I hope some find this of interest.

JohnWKielyOops, forgot the "in action" photo.
A heck of a lot less cumbersome than a tripod and the stable camera is the secret to sharp photos. Looks like it would be very handy in areas with trees.
I suppose you could also screw it into the earth if no trees are around and you want the low level perspective.
Usually I carry a BogPod shooting tripod. One of the detachable heads is a small ball mount for a camera. Seeing as how the Pods always with me it comes in handy for photos as well as shooting.

Evan K.Nice! I keep a pocket-sized Gorillapod knockoff on hand while afield for self-portraits and other shots. It works pretty well on the ground and can grip odd small things but not trees like that.

farbedoNice. I use either a gorilla pod, or I strap my camera onto my screw in bow hanger.
Thanks for sharing.
