Pack Rat bait.
I'm usually pretty good at catching the pesky little buggers with my "secret" deer corn/dry catfood mix (seasoned with Anise) that I catch Coon with but I've had one in my wood shed for about a month that just wasn't interested.
Well, you know what a mess they can make so out of desperation I put a big ol femer bone from a Chicken in the trap a couple days ago, and sure enough the little bastid was waiting for me this morning.

Who Knew?? Confused Big Grin

Field sports are not about targets and scores. Score-keeping is necessary in competitions between humans, unattractive in competitions with weaker adversaries. Constant scores of many to zero do not smell of struggle and chance. They smell of greed.

Nice catch!

I've used a bit of mollasses before. Worked for that one. Not exactly enough of a trend to have confidence.

Ha,,,, had another one waiting for me this morning.
That's three this year (which is odd since I don't normally see em till fall). One with corn/catfood mix and two with Chicken bone. LOL
The'd probably go after a beef steak too, but thanks to our elected officials all they're getting around here is Chicken.

sometimes shiny objects will work. I have had the best results with a trap inside a stove pipe, they just have to go through.

I have trapped about 20 since the first of August in my tractor shed...using peanut butter smeared on the trap pan...works pretty good..they can't pass up peanut butter!!

Try a trail of marshmallows and a small piece of rotting salmon with the skin on. Coons can't resist. Only problem is opossums like it too.
