I have a Browning/Winchester 1886 Carbine I recieved from my Father.
I wanted to use the rifle but did not want to damage the original stock and needed a butt pad for the heavy loads I like to shoot.

Colt, I have a new Winchester 1892 and was wondering how these stocks fit these reproductions? The Precision website is not really friendly towards these newer guns. I hate that crescent butt in .44 mag, that shotgun butt looks great!

So far the load I am using is a 405 gr. hard cast over 49 grs. of H322. It gives me 1800 fps at the muzzle.

I put a pad on my Win. Trapper .44 mag also. 180 gr. jsp Rem loads clock nearly 2200 fps and smack you good in that little rifle.



The fit of the after market stocks I would say is about 90-95 percent. The only real pain is marking and drilling the screw holes.

Thank you for the web address. Never seen a stockmaker who doesn't talk much about stock dimensions, who won't machine forearms and buttstocks from the same blank, or use customer wood.
