Marlin 1894,45 Colt
I'm hoping someone can clear up a couple of questions for me. I have a Marlin 1894, 45 Colt Cowboy Competition.
Q1, There seems to be some differeing points of view on how much pressure can be safely handled when compared to the same rifle chambered for the 44 Mag when using the same projectile weights
Q2, is the 45 colt case inherently weaker than a 44 Mag case.
Q3, For hunting large pigs which projectile would be most suitable in the 45 Colt.

Not since they stopped making balloon head cases for the 45 Colt.

I'd use a hardcast flatpoint of the LBT-pattern myself, but I'd be careful to buy one that cycles and chambers. Marlins seems pretty committed to SAAMI dimensions.

Have you read this?

I have been shooting 24 gr H110 250 gr XTP in my Win94 45 Colt.
At 1500 fps, it all the kick I want from that tiny rifle.

Thanks, for the info. What does the LBT stand for?
