Re: Finally picked up my 1886 Extra Lite 45/70
If I may ask a foolish question, what is the make of the 1886 Extra Lite? I've been thinking of a Marlin 45-70 in the future, might take a ganger at the 1886 though.

fgulla is spot on made by Mirouko who make some very nice under and over 12 gauges as well I might add.

I am looking at my 1886 now and it is certainly makeing me weak at the knees I would love to be able to afford a second one..I mean this is old world quality with new metals this rifle is to nice to use

The original 1886 was a Winchester but i think that the new ones are made by Browning, since winchester owns browning or vice a versa, and i believe they are made in Miroku, Japan. The 1886 is one of, if not the best lever gun action ever made and it cetainly beats any marlin out there.
