Specifically the 458 Win Mag...Like firing 38 Spcl through a 357 mag gun... or a 458 Mag through a 458 LOTT

There would be less danger firing a .458x2" American in a .458 Winchester Magnum (same bullet diameter and about a half inch longer) than firing a .458x2" American in say an 8mm Remington Magnum. Hence, the belt on the 450 Marlin was extended to prevent chambering in the 45-70 and any belted magnum one could close the bolt on a .458"x2" American in.
