Which is the higher amount of powder you reloaded for a marlin 1895? I have found much different top loads depending the reloading table consulted...

Of course always speaking within safety pressure limits...

Thank you all in advance

With the exception of the Nosler 300 gr Partition I favor heavier bullets in my Marlin Guide Gun and based on feedback from others I wouldn't run the 300 JHPs much faster than the ~1800 fps or use them on game larger than whitetails. The manuals a full of data for Waters Type I loads using IMR3031.

The 300 grain Hornady JHP is a fine bullet on deer, black bear and hogs when driven at 2150 fps. I would not hesitate to try this bullet seated to 2.55" COL and crimped with a Lee Factory Crimp Die with up to 64 grains compressed of IMR3031 in Winchester brass and CCI 200 primers. Start at 58 grains and work up carefully. Such a load would be adapted from the source Rusty cited.
