Marlin bolt removal
I picked up a Marlin 336cs and was told the best way to clean was to remove the bolt. I looked at it today and was not able to fiqure a way to do this.

I would like to remove the crossbolt safety and believe that there is a filler you can install in the safetys place. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hayes,
To remove the bolt you just open the lever about 1/2 way, then you unscrew the bolt that holds the lever in, pull the lever out and the bolt slides right out also. One thing to watch is the ejector, pay attention to how its in there because it will fall out also.To put it back together you just do the opposite. If you have the manual it gives complete instructions. If you do a search on the marlin message boards you can find the info you want on the safety.
good luck, JT
