They also came with both "shotgun" and "rifle" buttplates. I have owned both, but they were worth a great deal more money to others than they were to me 30 years ago, so they are long gone.

Some of the very early ones also had Model 94 markings on the upper rear tang, and Model 64 markings on the barrel. Whether they were transitional models or not, I don't know. I do know they existed because I had one that my father-in-law bought new and I inherited. (I got it in 1962...he had owned it a long time by then.)
