A friend is helping a widow sell off her husband's firearms, and came upon this Model 71 in near-pristine condition. Wonder what it's worth.

About $60 and shipping, I'll happily send you $100, sight unseen! Wink

I'm going to pick it up and get some pix of it, along with a couple other pieces of interest.

Deluxe or standard, long grip or short, type of iron sights are all factors in a 71 value, and of course the description described makes a big difference, its definately a valuable gun.

He sold it to a friend for $2,500...I never got to take pix. Oh well.

I do have a Browning Model 71 High-Grade Carbine (20") if that's of interest to anyone at $1,425.

Yes, he had a Win Model 42 (.410) that I would have loved to play with as well.

Now you are just throwing salt on it.

Yes, and there were a couple of very early Winchester and Remington pump-action 22 rifles that were HUGELY expensive when I looked them up.

It could easily be worth another $1500 or so, if its mint condition. 1st year of production always fetches a premium price..Deluxe models fetch more money, bolt peeps add more..condition is everything of course, but put all that together and you can get beyond $3500 and maybe as much as $4500 to $5000. wouldl have to see it to be more accurate.
