M94 receiver sight
I have an angle eject model 94 30-30. I would like to find a receiver mounted sight for it that will install in the rear scope mount holes. Does anybody know of a manufacturer?

I think the XS SIGHT SYSTEM has a bolt on model for the angle eject. Check out Brownells

There is a williams foolproof that mounts in the rear scope holes, another version that mounts on the side and a big bore version that also mounts on top. I'm not positive which one the angle eject would take. But there is a version that will fit it.

Thanks guys. I've had this rifle for years and have never shot anything but empty cans and paper with it. Thought I might put a good sight on it and see if I can shoot a deer with it this fall.

XS Systems has a ghost ring for what your looking for. I have one on my 307, it comes with two apertures to fit your desire. I installed the small aperture on mine.

would not be what I'm looking for --- that is perhaps functional but not graceful and balanced enough to go on a 94 I owned. in fact its butt ugly! thumbdown

I don't find the Williams to be more aesthetically pleasing. They work well but are not as rugged as the XS model.

The current lyman sights are absolute trash.

They are purely a decor item.

You might also try Skinner sights. They have reciever and barrel mounted aperture sights. I've got one of thier barrel sights on my Shiloh and it works good......and doesnt look like a turd.

I have the Skinner barrel mount sight on my AE 45 Colt as I did not want to take away from the clean lines of the reciever. It works great and is surprisingly quick to use even though it is not mounted up close to your eye. I picked up another for my pre-64 M94 30-30.

Midway has the Williams 5D sight on sale for $27 right now.
