Super 88New barrel for Marlin?
I have a 336C in 30-30 that has the 20" barrel. I use it for shooting Cowbow Lever Action Silhouette and it is very accurate off the rest with my match load. I was wondering i when the barrel wears out if there would be a problem going to a 24" barrel for the extra sighting radius and if anyone knew of someone who they could recommend for this kind of work and what I could expect to pay for a professional job. I guess I'm saying I may not want to wait until it's worn out, I'd like the additional length for competition purposes. I lost the state championship by one target and it still sits in my craw!! Also, would it matter if I went to a stainless barrel as opposed to the current blued one?

L. RivardBetter check the NRA rule book, I don't think non factory replacement barrels are legal in your sport.
