Dave:
Can't help you on the matter of a gunsmith for your Win.88 but as a retired hunter(mostly) at 74 I only beg you -Keep that rifle! I have been involved in countless gun deals since I was 12 -and my record usually was (at best) that I got rid of a gun for a fair amount of money -and found that the gun I replaced it with wasn't as good. I found the Win.88 (mine was in 308 Win.) the smoothest operating lever action I ever handled with the exception of the Savage 99. I wish you good luck with the work over. (On mine, the trigger had a lot of slack which I liked anyway. Hope your trigger problem is not serious)
