I finally located and purchased 5 lbs of VVV-133, where do I start and what calibers??..I have 308, 7x57, 30-06, 9.3x62, 270, 300 WM, 30-30, 25-35.222, 6x45,348, looking for a starting point.

I love this part of the shooting game, testing powder and bullets on different calibers and on game...

There are so many new powders out there that I know nothing about such as Big GAme and other new stuff..some good and some so bad it was recalled. some that should probaby have been recalled

To put this powder into perspective, it has a burn rate similar to 3031. As you would imagine it’s not going to be the best powder to use in all applications.

I got that problem solved; I don't use none of them new powders with new names. I stick with the old ones invented before 1966. They do still work fine.

Burn rate aside, my primary interest in VV N133 is the lack of pressure spikes in the burn graph.

This is particularly interesting to those of us loading ammo for older rifles and older cartridges such as the .45-90 , .405 WCF, etc.

The added top pressure margin of 12,000 psi is of interest to some loaders. I also get good hunting accuracy with the powder.
It works for me.

Burn rate does not mean much to me and It can really get one in a mess..what Id like to know is some VV-133 specific max loads for certain calibers, I can take it from there, work back or forward..Load data for it is hard to come by even in my VV hand book..

Got it, just what I needed. I had an old VV pamphlet with loads, but it was terribly out dated.
Thanks for the heads up JFE..Also updated me on VV-140 that I have used with y 25-35 win. Its very useable on several other calibers..
