Demonical325gr Hawk in .405Win
Anybody tried the 325gr RN .050" jacket Hawk bullet in a .405Win? I've got one of the excellent Miroku repro' models.
I'm thinking about ordering some.

N E 450 No2I have shot several deer and pigs with Hawk bullets in my 9,3x74R [285gr .035jkt], and with my 450/400 3 1/4" [300gr .o25jkt.] I have shot a few impala with the 9,3 as well.
ALL of the animals shot have been DRT, except one pig that ran 15 feet or so.
I have shot several pigs that were weighed on a scale from 250 to 285 lbs.
I shot one pig with a 400 gr .035jkt in the 450/400 as well.
The Hawks are great hunting bullets IMHO.
In the 405 I would go with a .035jkt for deer and most pigs, but for elk and bigger the .050 would be my pick.

DemonicalI went ahead and placed an order for the 0.050" jacket 325gr RN in .411 cal'. I will be doing some tests with them, when I get time and expect to use them on black bears, maybe moose.

N E 450 No2That should be a good choice for sure.
I have some 300gr North Fork bullets for my 405 that I plan to use on pigs and black bear.
They hit the same place at 100 yards as my reloads with 300gr Hornady bullets and Hornady factory 300gr FP factory ammo.

Demonical^ Yeah the standard bullet in the .405 is the 300gr so I thought these 325gr bullets would have just a bit better SD and that think jacket ought to let 'em hold together and drive deep.
