BISCUT50 SMITH AND WESSON LEVERGUN
Is there anyone producing or custom chambering the 50 Smith and Wesson in a quality levergun?
I really like the 44Mag in a lever and me thinks the 50 S&W would be a great round outa a 18" barrel

DuggaBoyeI believe Wild West Guns has made some.
Also Big Horn Armory.

buckeyeshooterThe biggest problem is that winchester/marlin lever actions are 40,000 psi guns and the 460/500 S & W round operates at over 60,000 psi. So, unless it is a ground up custom, it will be a 1 or 2 shot rifle before KABOOM!

BISCUTi thought 44mag was above the 40k psi threshold?

buckeyeshooterAt $1900, you can buy a marlin 1895 or winchester 86 reintro and have it rebored to 450 alaskan or 50 alaskan. Then you have more power and something there is less worries about.

When I saw that price tag I figured it would be a better deal to send one of my 1895's to WildWildWest or Brockman's.

CollinsWhat are you shooting at that a 45/70 won't kill (or is it just the "Neat-o factor")

BISCUTCollins....nothing but WANT. No need as the 45-70 will pretty much do the job on anything I care to try to kill!
And I am truly amazed at the accuracy you can get out of a stock Marlin GG.
