475 Turnbull
A whitetail I shot this year with the 475 Turnbull at 180 yards. Using 400 gr. TSX bullet

Doug, as they say, use enough gun :-)

PS: If the Deer was wearing that hat, I would have shot him too...in season or not :-)

I'd rather shot him with the 475 than a 243 or 308 at least I don't loose the amount of meat from the hydro shock of the bullet. Just cut around the hole and your done!!

Doug!.

I am a great admire of your fine rifles. As a former Winchestercollector, the Model 1886 & 1895 was in my book true useful huntingrifles.
The other Browning patent models were also fine guns but more designed for saddlework or light ranch guns.
It´s a joy to see a few gunsmiths in the US can do work on such guns that equal the originals in aestetics and perfomance.

Thanks for sharing Smiler

nice deer, I love the big bore lever guns..... as I like those deer to drop rather than track them a couple hundred yards!

Doug,

Did you choose/find a place to take those clients on their hunting trip?

Nice rifle, nice deer. I guess you could consider the hat a nice tribute to the late Tom Laughlin (Billy Jack), he had one similar.

I've been looking at Turnbull rifles for a while and thinking about buying one. I wish he made a one of those thumpers with an 18 inch barrel in 45-70. That would be just the ticket for anything in NA...

My guess is.... all you have to do is ask! I went the other way on my latest one, 32 inch 50-110.
