Marlin Guide gun question

Anyone experiencing a jam problem with the guide gun; fire a shot, work the action and it jams stuck before you can move the lever and the new cartridge into battery. I am loading Nosler 300 grain partitions, and it has happened to me infrequently. I read that Marlin has a new follower designed for the new Hornady Leverevolution ammo. Perhaps that would feed better.

A couple of things come to mind. Use a fashlight to look in the action during a jam.

Is the "on carrier" bullet's nose jamming on the web between the barrel and the mag tub during closing?
OR
Is the next incoming round sneaking its rim over the carrier nose? This will jam it up tighter 'n clam's ass at low tide.

No stoppages or jams with my 45/70 Guide Gun since 1998 whether with 300, 350, 405, cast, jacketed, factory, or handloads. Any idea where and on what the round is stopping?

my 1972 M1895 will cycle fired cases from the magazine tube and into the chamber as fast as I can work the lever...

Thanks. I will do that. I called Marlin and they thought it was a "carrier" problem that they offered to adjust if I sent it back. I am planning on taking it out of country in October so may try to get it off to them ASAP. Last time it jammed on me I had just shot a boar; thankfully one shot with that rifle has always worked.

My GG would jam everytime on the last round from the magazine.

The plastic magazine plunger donsn't protude far enough with factory 300 HP projectiles to force the rim of the last round to engage the carrier so as to lift it up into battery.

I just load 405 grn flat noses now, about 5 thou lonnger than the 2.55" maximum and the problem is solved.
Feeds slicker than duck sh*t now.

Avatar. Thanks I'll try that, and see if that is the culprit. In my jams, it was the last round that hung up.

Could be 'The dreaded Marlin Jamb' talked about on Leverguns.com
Also, you may check and make sure the bottom screw next to the forend stock it tight. if it backs out the action will lock up tight if you have remaining ammo in the magazine.
