Update on my Win 94 project

I finally got my 375win barrel from Numrich's last week. I had to go to three gunsmiths before I found someone to agree to put it on the gun. His stipulations were that I file down the chambering marking and rename it with something else. In this case I chose 373 BPE. So, I got a new barrel on it, stripped off the bluing, and am in the process of sanding out all the pits. Next step will be to engrave it. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Why in the world were they concerned about putting it on? It was a factory chambering on the big bore 94.

because the operating pressure on the 375win is 50,000+ and the 30-30 is only 35,000ish. The gun is a regular Win 94AE not the beefed up version they used to chamber the 375win

I had a 94 big bore in 375 Win. I am curious what they beefed up in the big bores? I am far from an expert on 94's, but I thought the only difference was the chambering.
Please educate me on the difference.

The big bore 94 is thicker in the reciever in the area of barrel attachment and in the area of locking lugs in the rear. It takes higher pressure rounds like the .307, .356 and .375 winchester. Big bores were also made in 444 and 450 marlin.
