Doug TurnbullBurris Fast fire for 86 and 94
http://www.turnbullrestoration...63629&showprevnext=1I will have these bases in about 3-4 weeks both for the 86 71 and for the 94. This is another way to use your lever gun with the aging eyes that we are getting.

Bill73Doug,
in some of the earlier guns, you had this sight mounted on the barrel,do both the locations work just as well or do you have a preference?
thanks.

Doug TurnbullThe reciever mount gives better field on view and is a stronger mount than the barrel mount. For the barrel mount it is really more a custom fit as there seems to be a lot more vaiations in barrel contour than just screw it into the holes on the side. The 86 barrel for the octagon is the easiest to install of the barrel monts but you still really need to drill and tap ONE hole on the barrel mounted to give the added strength on the installations.

N E 450 No2Doug showed me that mount at DSC.
I have used red dot sights on work guns as well as on hunting guns.
It is the way foward for anyone that is having difficulty with iron sights.
I have shot one on a 308 many times at 300 yards with groups well within deer killing size.
I have also shot them at 500 and 600 yards with good results on paper and steel.
For running game the red dot works even better.
Dougs mount looked very good.
I also like having the red dot close to my eye.
Red dot sights even work for someone who shoots from the right shoulder but is left eye dominate.
Even for someone with perfect eyes, red dot sights are much faster.
They are perfect for double rifles as well.
