SlattsGhost Ring Sight kit from Wild West Guns?
Does anyone have any experience with this sighting system from Wild West Guns on a Marlin 1895? I like their ghost ring sight because they are protected on the sides and combined with the Williams Firesight, it just looks like a great combo.
Please let me know if you have a review, etc...
Thanks

Joel/AKSlatts,
I have one on my co-pilot and I absolutely love it. IMO, it makes the rifle a natural when I bring it up to my shoulder.
my rifle got dropped off a ledge while climbing a mtn. rear sight survived with flying colors, front sight didnt fair so well.
WWG still replaced the front sight for free.
To me, its worth the money.

SlattsJoel,
That's a good enough testimonial for me. I was on the edge, but went ahead and ordered the set. After studying the heck out of open sights on the 1895, this seemed like the right package for me.
Cheers,
Slatts

SnowwolfeI had one and returned it to Brownells. It was a very nice sight but they use such tiny set screws my allen wrench rounded off with just a very small amount of pressure.

Rick RI've got one in my 1895 and it works quite well and is hell for stout. But it does use some of the dinkiest little allen screws to hold the elevation and windage.
I also helped a friend put a XS sight on his 1895, IMHO that design makes much more better sense than the WWG for the money you spend.
You'll be happy with the WWG unit if you just set it and forget it and leave those little screws alone.

hunting1I opted for the XS sights and do not regret it. Comes with the 2-different apperatures and works great. Am very suprised at the accuracy with it.
