I need to put a weaver base onto a '94 to mount a red dot. Who makes them?

I just bought an Aimtech "Second Sight" at natchezss.com. It's a low profile see-through and works well so far.

Thanks vghunor, but I wanted to know who makes the base to mount the sight on, not who makes red dot sights.

I have ordered one from XS sights, in case anybody needs to know where to get them from.

Personally I would simply buy a section of steel weaver rail and machine it to fit the barrel contour, then solder it. You could also screw it but I think solder works just as good.

Even simpler would be to purchase a section of aluminum weaver rail and epoxy it to the barrel with JB Weld or similar epoxy. I did that 2 years ago to a shotgun for my son to use turkey hunting and it has not failed yet.

I will say I am not a big fan of red dot sights on a rifle, if it is a bright sunny day with the sun anywhere somewhat behind you it can be impossible (and I do mean impossible) to see that dot sometimes. If you are only hunting in the woods with it I don't see a problem but out in the open at 2 in the afternoon it is a different story.

Aimtech Second Sight is not a red dot sight. It's a Weaver style one piece see through mount.
You can top it with most about anything in Weaver style rings.Would not recommend longer scopes because the whole setup is kind of short.

Check the Marlin website. I think they offer Weaver mounts.
