Bryndon1873 22 Short
I have an 1873 in 22 short in the shop. It needed a mag tube, got one and found another problem. When the mag tube is placed in the the gun it feeds all the shells right into the frame. Off come the side plates to remove the shells - less than convenient.
Anybody got a picture of what the insides are supposed to look like, or have a good idea what the problem might be?
Thanks,
Bryndon

Idaho SharpshooterThis was one of my "dumb attacks". About fifteen years ago I am sitting at the Cimarron Booth in Dallas (SHOT Show) with Mike Harvey and his crew, and he grabs this fancy completely engraved M1873 and hands it to me. Hogkiller was there. It is in 22lr, and the market response had been underwhelming. A $1600 22 lever rifle will do that. He offered me the rifle for a grand, I told him I had about half that much to spend, and he says "take it home, and make a couple payments..." I passed. In the "Cool" contest, it was an absolute winner.
Dang...

BryndonYes they certainly help. It looks like there should be something in the elevator to stop the shells from going all the way into the linkage. Thanks so much!
