yumastepsideUberti revolving rifles ?
....Sorry, I couldn't think of where to put it

......does anyone know if the early ( probably the 80's? ) Uberti revolving rifles in .357 and .44 used the same frames or were the .44s bigger ?

Karlnot sure but at a guess the same. The rossi uses the same size frame I believe. I'm not a fan of these type guns. I owned one and the problem is the noise. I have sensitive ears anyway but keep in mind the cylinder with its escaping gas is only about a foot from your face when this is shoulder mounted. At least with handguns the cylinder is arms length away. My ears were ringing even with foam earplugs in.

Bill/OregonI have long been tempted to play with the percussion version, but they just aren't very practical. I'd love to have a Colt Root rifle for the sheer history of it, but again, they are problematical to shoot.

dpcdRule #1; do not place your hand on or in front of the cylinder gap. You will only do it once and if you have a chain fire, it will hurt worse.
I have fired a Root rifle percussion a lot, reaming the cylinder out to take balls commensurate with the groove size; originally they are much smaller so there is a lot of windage when the ball is in the barrel.
It was not the cylinder blast that was the problem; the blast from the nipples seemed to be annoying; definitely wear glasses when shooting them.
Cartridge revolving rifles? should be fun. See rule 1.
Oh, the OP's question; same frame, but that is not important.

We are having a small local show in Shawnee, Oklahoma this weekend Bill. These small shows here are almost guaranteed to have this stuff. Amazes me every time. Get you a plane ticket and I'll pick you up.

congomikeThey are the same frame as the standard SAA 1873 replica. Also HEED dpcd's advice!
