Wild west trigger for marlins.
Just bought a new Remlin 1995.
The bugs are out as far as i can tell. This thing is far better put together than my JM ones were. But i have not fired it yet. Fit and finish is very good, and the thing is smooth as can be right out of the box, feeds like butter.
I mounted an old Leupold M8 3 power.
But i must say the trigger is bad.
Need to improve that. Who has used the wild west Replacement and or any other Mods you might sugjest and what do you think of same ?
thanks...tj3006

Hi TJ

I am glad to hear that your new Remlin seems like a better rifle than when they first took over production. I purchased one for my dad for Fathers day and it has an ejection issue...but outside of that it seems perfect.

Definitely fire some rounds through it before changing the trigger. If you have to send it in for warranty repair you won't want to send it in with the aftermarket piece in it.

We still haven't sent my dads in for work. I think next time we are in Vegas we will have Wild West Guns take a look at it.

TJ, the WW trigger is worth every cent. I've had way more than my share of issues the few times I tried to do business with that company, so I bought mine from Brownell's in order to minimize their profit, but I admit it is an awesome improvement.

The other easy changes I made to my 1895 were installing a cowboy action spring set (main hammer spring and the tiny one in the lever), a David Clay medium sized lever (Marlin has a factory one the same size now) and a pin to replace the hammer block safety (I kept the factory safety in case I ever decide to sell it). The springs greatly smoothed the action and still had plenty of power for hard primers.

I'm glad to hear the quality is back with the new ones.

I installed Wild West Happy Trigger and Bear Prof Ejector in my Marlin 1894C 357mag. Also installed stainless one piece firing pin and reduced hammer spring. Action is slick like butter and trigger is a crisp 2-1/8 pound trigger pull.
