I've been away from Winchesters since the late 1980s when I made the gradual transition to double rifles. So, I need some help. I have two Winchesters I want to dispose of. One is a reblued .405 1895 that was found abandoned in a trapper's cabin. The other is an 1886 extra light rifle, made about 1900 in .45-70. It is a deluxe model with a pistol grip and fancy wood with a half magazine. Receiver blue is gone but the blue on the barrels is excellent, as is the bore. The barrel is unique: it is not the standard extra light barrel but a "pencil thin" barrel. Some pits were polished off the top tang but the remainder of the rifle is fine. Where does one find a fair price for these two and where is the best place to sell them? I live in AK so that may or may not be an issue.I don't know how to post photos here but will with some help or PM me for pics.
