The other thread on this forum made me wonder if anyone has used it in a Winchester 94. The talk about Marlin offering a new follower makes me wonder if something like this would be needed in the 94. I don't have ammo (yet) to test out my rifle so I was wondering if any of you can speak from experience regarding this issue.

Seems like they're all Marlin merchants on this site. You'd wonder why the marlin needs a different follower.

If the new points are OK against the rear of a cartridge, what's so special about the follower.
Maybe the marlin's jams itself some how?

One could always put a flat point in first at a pinch.
Haven't sighted any over here yet, but I can live without them.

It seems that the pointed bullets ammo does not meet the original specifications for the ammo.
That is not Marlin's fault.
I have read that the cases are shorter to provide proper crimping of the longer bullets. Not a very good design in my opinion.

I shot some a couple days ago -- worked just fine, but I have a WWG follower in my 1895 CB. Shoots quite high relative to the cowboy loads I sighted in with, but that's to be expected.

I've put 3 boxes of "Standard" and 2 boxes of "Pointy" thru my XLR and it works great. I'll measure cases this evening to confirm or deny the rumor.

For the average non-reloading hunter it's a moot point (hint: they don't shoot enough for the shorter neck to become an issue, if it ever would at 30 WCF pressures). For that matter, for the average reloading with no access to the new wonderbullets it doesn't really matter much either. I'll guess about the only person it affects is the mixed brass empty case scrounger at the range who will find sorting the kort neck from from regular a nuisance when it is time to apply the crimp.

Thanks for posting that, as someone who doesn't normally pay attention to his 45-70 brass (shoot it, pick it up from the pasture, and through it in an old ammo can -- have to make sure it stays seperate.
