AtkinsonHornadys new 25-35 factory round is on the sheleves.
Hornady now has their 110 gr. rubber tipped 25-35 Win loaded ammo out..velocity is 2450 FPS and supposedly works in older Winchesters..I can load a 117 Hornad RN to 2350 FPS, but think I'll buy a box of that new stuff and try it out.
Also I just read my Graffs flyer and they are advertising Hornady 117 gr. round nose 25-35 ammo at $28.00 per box.

Bill/OregonRay, did you ever try the new Hornady gummy tip in .25-35?

LJSI bought some of the Graf ammo. It comes in a Graf box with Hornady indicated as the maker. Looks good to me and feeds fine through my rifle. Price is right!

AtkinsonBill,
I have not..but Ive been using the old Hornady 117 round nose for ions..Using a modern bullet on a 25-35 to get better ballistics is akin to making a silk purse our of a sows ear, The 25-35 is what it is, a wonderfully light rifle with little recoil, a 200 yard deer rifle and that's stretching it..A 100 yard elk rifle with little room for error..but maybe I'll try some just for the heck of it..I have shot some 107 gr. GS Custom monolithic flat nose HP HV bullets in the .25-35 and they shoot great, at 2600 give or take 50 FPS. I have used those Hornady rubber tipped bullets on 2 whittail in my 30-30, they killed well but lacked penetration IMO..Some guys I know in Texas use them in the 45-70 and swear by them on those small North Texas deer, others say the same about the .222 Rem on those pretty little bucks..
