I bought Starline for my 50 Alaskan. Still shooting in after many reloads. Very hard to beat the quality.

Yup you are right about Starline,it is good brass & I am using some allready,I search for QC brass because I think it might give me a few more grains of capacity, maybe 3 to 5 more.

I use Winchester 348 brass and CH4D expander to open the neck. Very good brass with long life. I load 63 grains of 3031 with a 400 grain gas check bullet for about 2150 fps.

Do you know what the winchester brass has for H2o case capacity?

Sorry for the delay Bill,
looks like 71.5 grains of water fills the WW case to bottom of the neck.

I use WW 348 brass with bullseye and corn meal to form the 450 Alaskan. Never lost a case as long as new brass is used. Using an expander often results in an uneven length neck. The firerorm method does not have this problem. I like 3031 with the 400 grain Speer for a using load.
