Thomas JonesBLR in .257 Roberts ?
Saw one of these at a local shop today,
I love the cartridge, and I do remember them making a run of these quite a few years back.
Any body have any experence with such a rifle ?
Sounds kind of cool, to have in the woods for deer and mabye black bears, but still have the punch for longer shots if you can get it to shoot strait ! (course I have about 7 or 8 other rifles you could say the same thing about.)
But what do you think ?
Decent combination or not ?
thanks.

JPKI'll probably buy it if you decide to pass. I'm a lefty and finding nice 257 is a pita. If you do decide to pass, please let me know and also please give me your opinion of the rifle, cendition, etc...

AzGuyIf the rifle is in good+ condition, I'd buy it in a heart beat....
Great combo...all you need for deer/sheep/antelope/pigs/varmits in a handy configuration.
As JPK points out, good for either lefty or righty.

Michael A. GlassWhile I'm sure their detractors exist, I cannot remember anyone not heaping praise on the BLR.
I have one in 358win and love it.
I would also buy that gun unless it had been used as a speed bump or a t'mater stake!!!
If you are familiar w/current factory loading of the "Bob" you know they do not provide all the potential of that round.
I reload it for a Ruger #1 and find it likes the heavier bullets at near max loads (your mileage may vary).
BLR in 257 is a great combo for carrying and shooting in non-beanfield situations. I've used my BLR up here in the cedar swamps of the UP and carried it all day w/out fatigue.
Saving my "bail out" money for another one.
Let us know the outcome of your ponderings.

Cliff LyleI would say a .257 BLR would be a good find as I'm not sure how long that caliber was in their line up. I don't believe it is currently but someone corrrect me if I'm wrong.
I would Buy it.
