drewhenrytntEjector problems Browning 1885
Am posting here after few responses in single shots. Also because there seems to be lots of ya'll with 1885s. Mine is in .454. With .45Colt loads and reduced power .454 loads extraction/ejection is grand. With full power .454 loads a wooden dowel is required to remove spent case. I have measured the expansion of the case and it is less than that of ctgs from my Freedom mod 83. I have carefully cleaned and "polished" the chamber. Polished with felt wads on a slow speed spindle. I have done a chamber casting to look for defects--none found. Any suggestions? I really wanted a Ruger #1 in this caliber to start with. Never had an extraction problem with one of those. Is it time for me to suck it up and have the custom #1 built? If so who is THE #1(no pun intended) Ruger smith to go to in the US. thanks Andy

ireload2Have you tried to push the lever once it is open.
My Browning has a cam to push on the extractor with the lever.
