rebarrel Winchester 92
I have an original Winchester 1892 carbine in .38/40.
The rifle is in excellent condition but the barrel is shot out to the point of almost being a smoothbore.
Redman doesn't reline carbine barrels as they are too thin.
Any good gunsmiths out there that can rebarrel to same caliber and what kind of price am I looking at?

HamourkillerIf money is no object and quality is job one, then Doug Turnbull would be my recomendation.

Do you mean Redman does not supply a 38-40 liner or recommends against it? I just relined a orig. 32-20 1873 Winchester rifle (24" oct. barrel) with a "TJ" liner. The liner OD was .500" and while it did not leave a lot of the old barrel metal the job was not a problem. I believe the OD's of TJ's liners are a little smaller than Redman's so you might check with TJ. A reline is a much better solution than a re-barrel.

They won't reline the carbines, the barrel outer diameter is too small. i was looking at Wind River barrels, but the price and work listed on the site are kind of vague, will give them a call.
