i am thinking about buying a couple Marlins and i wanted to find out how old they were. i went to the Marlin Talk forum and found out that it has been closed down. where can i go to get this information??

the Marlins i am looking at are both the Model 336 RC version. here are the serial numbers:

J43983 (.30-30)
4856446 (.35 Remington)

anyone have an idea when these were made or where i can get this information..??

The J prefix 30-30 should be 1952, the 48 prefix doesn't fit and I have no clue.

I believe both are 1952.
