The Cast bullet board suggested I post this here as well.

I have never developed a smokeless powder load, and have never loaded cast bullets over smokeless, so I am a novice at what I am planning to do. If anyone can run simulations for me I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm shooting an 1895 Winchester in .405 Win, the new Custom Shop remake of the 1895. Hodgon data provides loadings for 300 and 400 grain bullets. I'm shooting a 350 grain LBT gc cast with WLP primers.

I'm planning to start with Benchmark at 41.0 grains and proceed to a theoretical max or 46.5 gr.

These numbers are derived from the Hodgdon data and I assume are conservative especially for cast, but I don't think I want to push a cast bullet over about 2300 fps or so.

I'll use Benchmark if I can find some. Can I use IMR3031 with the same numbers?

What velocity and pressure will I be looking at with these loads?
