get mcphearsons accurizing the american rifle,, hard to find the different sections dealing thruout the book for and aft, as you need to use simular guns for a description of how to bed each part of the stock... .. I really like the thru bolt to the tang bolt on my 45-70 cowboy.. dave

My gunsmith bedded all my Marlins where the butt stock meets the tang and the forestock. The factory fit is suspect, and I've read reports of the stocks cracking. I also store all my wood stocked guns barrel down, so oil does not migrate into the butt stock wood over time.
