About .3 inches.

The 50 Alaskan has a 2.1" case length.
The 50-110 has a 2.4" case length.

Alaskan fans claimed the shorter case length made it possible to seat the bullet farther out and load more powder. Max loaded round in 2.74oal, so it is a wash. We also have plenty of great quality 50-110 brass from Starline so it is a moot point as to which you choose. IIRC, the Alaskan is based on the 2.2" .348 Win case, and if it is blown out to .50 caliber that is what results from the shortening of the case when you neck it up. It also mandated the use of an M71 because the follower is a bit short for the 50-110. Doug Turnbull has converted many of the new M71's, and he makes a new cartridge follower.
