CEB solids in 357 lever action
Gents does anyone know if these might handload and feed okay through a Rossi 92 lever action?

If you need that type of penetration out of a 357 mag. They should work well.

If I were going to carry my marlin carbine for bigger stuff then deer.

They could be a good choice I think one would get around 1800fps out of them.

By the picture on website they look like the same as a Speer 158gr. soft point which feeds fine in my Marlin 1894C 357mag seated at 1.580" COAL.

That's good news fellas, might be worth trying a box.

The other issue was stabilising this length of bullet. CEB material at 165gns is probably going to be quite a bit longer than lead core bullets, maybe longer than a regular 180 grain bullet... Rossi is slow twist 1:30. Guess there is only one way to find out.

You might shoot CEB an email and ask them length of bullet and rate of twist needed to stabilize this bullet.

That was a quick reply. They said no go in the Rossi, this bullet needs 1:22 to stabilise.

Give these a try. They sell sample pack of 25 bullets to see if your firearm likes them.

700xcr, any idea whether the coated bullets will handle travelling 20-24" of barrel? I assume these are made for 4-8" of barrel in pistols?

I asked Patrick at Badman Bullets if the polymer would scrape off when levering bullet from tubular magazine to chamber on a lever action rifle. He said no as it is baked on process. He said 99% of his bullets are sold for cowboy action shooting, handgun and lever action rifles. With the baked on polymer can with stand higher velocities then plated bullets. Also they are cleaner shooting then wax coated bullets.

You can contact Patrick at Phone: 1-541-409-5047 Oregon. If he don't answer leave a message and he will return your call.

Another question I asked was do they splatter when hit on steel targets because I don't want to tear up my steel gongs. He said they splatter and don't creator or tear up steel. Co-worker ordered a sample pack of these to try in his Henry Steel Boy 357mag and my Marlin 1894C. We like 158gr bullets in our lever guns.

I use Buffalo bore 180 grain hardcast GC bullets in my 94 357.I doubt those cutting edge solids can do anything better than the Buffalo bore bullets.
