Are 22 LR's worth 7 cents a round?
Are 22 LR's worth 7 cents a round?
A guy I know wants to trade me a pistol for some 22 LR's that I have.
Are 22's worth 7 cents a round in today's market? On average, of CCI, Win, Rem, Fed, etc.
If not, what are they worth?
Thanks

In my area people are selling 400 round boxes for $50+. That is 12.5 cents each.
Cost $15 in ammo to get my son through his hunter safety test.

swifter 220No not really, but whatever the market will stand, the sky is the limit from what I have been seeing on the auction sites.
With .223 pushing a dollar each, .40 and .45 may not far behind....

pagosawingnutBetween the 4 brands you mentioned, the average price for 50 rounds, AT Dealer cost, is 3.17. That does not include the freight to the dealer.

CurtissJust saw CCI standard speeds for $60 per brick of 500. Have not seen them any cheaper elsewheres just lately. At this point in time, 12cents a round seems to be the going price. Everybody loses when it's like this, except the anti's.

GatogordoThey're advertising the cheaper promo stuff at Gander Mt as I write this for about 5 cents/rd. This current mania will pass and there'll be plenty of .22 LR available.
Personally I wouldn't want to be in them more than a nickel a round and that would be full value IMO.

ray in WenatcheeYes, think I see the mania passing, now rim fire out on store shelves at the new high prices...the old days, the old prices are gone, say hello to the new........r in w.

swampshooterI'm afraid that the price will be .10 cents a round very soon. After these shortages are over the prices are normally still high. I've recently seen ads for .05 cents a round but they were out of stock.

jfromswkPersonally witnessed 6 bricks of Remington Thunderbolts walk off a table for 70.00/ brick at a gunshow 2 weeks ago. Incredible!

belawSooner or later supply will catch up with demand; unfortunately I don't know that retail prices for rimfire ammo won't stay at or near current levels.
